ALL DAY I DREAM TOUCHES DOWN IN TORONTO
When I think All Day I Dream I think flowy, ethereal house and techno with fabric draped over a breeze while people groove melodically to warm, hypnotic rhythms. Toronto is in for its first taste of All Day I Dream Sunday, July 17th at Fort York. The concept made its initial appearance on a rooftop in Brooklyn back in 2011, by design creating a dreamlike, magical atmosphere to contrast the urban horizon. It’s a reminder of the emotive beauty in music, surrounded by an equivalent dreamy ambience - an idea often consigned to oblivion within a dark, industrial club.
Lee Burridge created a mix years before that first party in New York called All Day I Dream Of Her..
Inspired by the love-filled sounds he’d found at that time, it’s led ultimately to this growing event series that has now crossed continents, appearing everywhere from Mexico, France, UK, Tunisia, Lebanon, Australia, Spain to Germany and now Canada, with Moscow on the horizon. It’s said love is in the details, and the decor will welcome revellers with flowers gracing pagoda-like structures, floating fabric, living walls and lanterns to soften the space.
Joining Burridge will be his All Day I Dream label partner, Matthew Dekay and prolific talent, YokoO. All three accomplished artists will bring their distinct, euphonic taste to the mix. Summer in Toronto is heating up - if love were a day with sound, light, atmosphere and decorative elements, it’d be All Day I Dream.
Tickets are available here and here, more information here. Event: 2pm-10pm.
